I knew Scott would love this gift because he is usually short on time and this speeds the hot water process up for him (and bonus: I have to do nothing!)! He’s been using it for about three weeks and he says it honestly is so simple and he seems so appreciative! I feel good about this as our Father’s Day gift and it’s pretty neat because we all get awesome use out of it, too. One of the best compliments he’s given regarding our Primo dispenser is that the purified water has really made his coffee’s taste different and better! Primo water goes through a multi-step purification process that includes reverse osmosis! I don’t get it because I’m not a coffee person but if it makes him happy, I’m happy!
Something else that our Primo dispenser has helped with is getting our kids to drink more water. I have struggled and struggled for such a long time to get more water in their cups without a fight or them not even drinking it but something about them being able to get their own water and it’s been a game changer. It got me thinking and maybe they just really don’t like the taste of tap water. It makes me wonder if the fresher taste of our purified water has made the difference that I wasn’t able to make for them to start liking water! I’m so thankful for this little Primo guy and happy to know that every 5-gallon bottle saves 1,100 single-use bottles from the landfill or from our oceans. I love trying to teach the kids about being intentional with our choices and even though they’re so young I know it’s sinking in!
Scott and I are big tea drinkers also and we love trying different flavors and making up our own concoctions. I love being able to spend quality time with Scott making our teas while the kids see us using and drinking water. We all know kids do what they see and drinking water is a big one that they need to copy! I had no idea until I did a little research that when you add a water dispenser to your home, families drink 25% more water. Did you kn ow this? I was surprised to hear that but at the same time, having one in our home now I totally see the validity. Simply having purified water available in such a convenient way makes me want to drink more water!
To make drinking water even more fun and intentional I created this 30 Day Water Challenge printable that’s free! I’d love to hear how it’s helped you and your kids drink more water daily! My kids love to add a little sticker to the cup each time they finish a glass! Another trick I have liked using involves rubber bands. add a rubber band to the bottom-ish of your kid’s cup and dare them to drink to that point. My kids like to compete against each other and inside I’m secretly laughing at my mom win!
Have you ever noticed that rack of 5-gallon water bottles when you enter Walmart? That’s where the Primo refill stations are! The kids have loved watching and helping us refill our bottles when we’re doing our grocery shopping and Scott and I like using that opportunity to talk to them about being intentional with our choices and the whys behind choosing refillable bottles!
