All over social media I’ve been seeing all the perfect little homes full of Christmas decor and it’s not even Thanksgiving yet! Gah! Seeing everything though, does get me thinking about Christmas and one of the areas I have totally been slacking in is stocking stuffers. I don’t want to go overboard but I do want to have some fun little things in there other than candy. Let’s be real here, the less candy the better for two toddlers!
Last year, Christmas time was really difficult for me, for reasons I can chat about later, but looking back I feel like I spoiled the crap out of my kiddos in an attempt to take my mind off things and try to find a way to make Christmas amazing for them. Christmas is so much more than just gifts and this year I wanted to try something new. I talked to Scott, and we both totally agree that we’re jumping on the want, wear, need, read wagon this year and for all the years after! I don’t want my kiddos to grow up thinking Christmas is all about the gifts and not learning and remembering what it’s really about and the why behind celebrating it.
Since we’re doing the four gifts per year, I wanted to carry that idea over into stockings that way I won’t feel so overwhelmed! Here are some of my favorite ideas that I’ll be incorporating into my kiddos’ stockings this year! Bonus: You can pick all of these up at your favorite Mom-vacation spot—Target!
