The time has come, y’all. Christmas time is heeeeeeeeere! I just love this season so much for so many reasons. One thing I have always loved and that our kiddos are just now getting into is seeing all the decorations and lights during this time of the year. Emily just lights up (no pun intended) when she spots all the goodies when we’re out and about and Brody follows suit now, it’s beyond adorable.
My parents live only about an hour north of French Lick, Indiana which is where the French Lick Hotel and West Baden Springs are at. If you missed my most recent visit here you can check our those blogs here and here! We decided to take the weekend and head down that way, kids and Grandparents in tow, and spend time as a family there and it’s a weekend I’ll never forget!
I can’t explain in words how magical the grounds at both locations are this time of year. It’s always gorgeous there, but they go above and beyond this time of year. Emily couldn’t believe how many Christmas trees there were. At one point we even made a game of it to see who could count more trees! There are gorgeous decorations all over the place, inside and out! I loved that they had story time and cookie decorating with Mrs. Clause! Santa was there too, in his leisure attire and it was so much fun! They even let ever single kiddo get pictures with them. Emily told Santa that she wanted two babies and a Christmas tree in her room at home, haha!
You can see below the gorgeous set up they had for meeting Santa the next day. It was just amazing to see the excitement in my kiddos’ eyes that they get to meet Santa and be around all of the holiday goodness! The pool was awesome, as always, never crowded and was open until midnight! We stayed way longer than we should have but owell.
On our last full day we all geared up in our coordinating pajamas and headed to The Polar Express train ride. The train ride two years ago was magical and we’ve looked forward to this year for a long time but unfortunately it was a big disappointment but that’s not for this post!
The whole weekend was great even with all the meltdowns from everyone, me included, the hungry bellies, tired babies, etc. All the magical fun and memories we made this weekend at this gorgeous place was well worth it and we can’t wait to visit again next holiday season to see all the gorgeousness again!
