This year I am all about being intentional. Being intentional with our morning routine and what I include to do, use, eat, and wear is all part of that. As many of you know, being a Mama of toddlers is no small task, especially when it comes to the everyday mornings with two wake up calls, two breakfasts, two outfit changes and potty breaks, two school drop-offs, two pick-ups, lunches, naps, baths, and all the other things…there’s no time for much else, amiright!?
Each morning, in an effort to make more time for myself, I have been trying hard to wake up at least an hour before my kiddos wake up. During this time I will read my Bible or another faith-based book, I’ll get myself “ready” for the day by fixing my hair a bit, brushing my teeth, putting on a little makeup (usually mascara and concealer). I’ve been trying to find something to wear that makes me feel good while at the same time staying warm with our temperatures being so cold recently. I’ll pray for my day ahead and for others that I am thinking about, make my bed, and sometimes if there is more time I’ll try to listen to a tiny bit of my favorite podcast! (I know, I’m already tired!)
That sounds like a lot and it is. I have been trying to do this in the morning because once the kiddos are up it’s all about them. We do breakfast, outfits changes, potty breaks, coats and shoes and hats, and school drop-offs all before 8:45am and then I am in need of some time to relax! Once I’m home I try to catch up on work and reply to some emails, finish a blog or two, post on social media, etc.
Sometimes I seriously need to clean my house though and I spend all morning doing that before I need to pick up the kiddos.
