Girl's Night Out!

We all know that self care is a huge deal right now and is all over social media. I have no doubts that it’s important and one of the ways I love taking care of me is by having me time. Sometimes that means getting a mani/pedi, sometimes I’ll go to Target by my self, sometimes that even just means to be able to shower once my husband is home and watching the kiddos! Self care doesn’t mean that you have to spend a lot of money or even take a lot of time out of your day but you’ll notice just how important it is to have if you don’t have it!

Tonight’s version of self care for me was having a girl’s night out with some of my women’s group from church! So, we’re all living in or right outside of Indianapolis so there are TONS of choices for places to go and spend our time but I was really hoping to find a unique and most of all, fun place for us all to go together! I’ve visited Drake’s, on of my favorite restaurants, several times before and I love that the serve all kinds of yummy food and have awesome drink specials. I’m not kidding that anyone can find something awesome on the menu. Drake’s has everything from burgers to quesadillas to sushi! Yep, you read that right, sushi, and it’s goooooood! I remember the first time I had sushi at Drake’s and I was a little hesitant since it’s a burger place too, but man, it won me over!

We all ordered some appetizers and of course, sushi, and the fun started. It’s so amazing to be able to have deep, fun, hopeful, and helpful conversations with like-minded women who you know aren’t going to be against you and give you bad advice or only be looking to strengthen themselves. These women are so faithful and there to say the hard things when other people won’t. They’re easy to talk to and non-judgmental, ugh, I could go on and on but there’s no need right now.

Something that we didn’t know was going on that night at Drake’s was Trivia Night! We were so stoked and couldn’t believe our luck since we were all really into it and we had so much fun! I loved that they questions were fun, nostalgic, and clean and the DJ was super fun, too! Totally a fun place for our girl’s night out and we will SO be back!

Just remember that self care doesn’t always have to be all about massages and manicures and pedicures and getting your hair done all the time! You can totally have awesome times with girlfriends, solo time alone in your own home, just whatever helps you keep who you are on the inside, that’s all it takes!
